#ItaliacheGiga, today, Friday, September 22 until Sunday, September 24, the Fastweb tour, visiting cities at 360°, will stop in the Ligurian capital

Fastweb extends its UltraFiber service to Genoa, with 1 Gigabit speed in download and up to 200 Megabit speed in upload.

After the launch of 1 Gigabit services in Milan, Turin, Rome, Bari, Bologna, the Fastweb UltraFiber comes to the Ligurian capital. Thanks to a speed up to 10 times faster than the current one and with low latency, the UltraFiber service will let families enjoy their digital life at its best: fast downloading in high definition, sharing of photos and videos on the web with a speed never before experienced, playing on-line games and connecting the new devices of the smart house.

At the end of 2017, the Fastweb 1 Gigabit UltraFiber service will be available in Genoa to 155 thousand households, more than 40% of the total city, connected with the Fastweb "Fiber-to-the-home" network, which was recently upgraded, and with the network being currently developed by FlashFiber, the joint venture established with TIM in order to bring FTTH to 29 cities.

Additional households, i.e. more than 25% of the total, are instead currently connected through the infrastructure "Fiber-to-the-cabinet" (FTTC), with a performance up to 100 Megabit per second in download, bringing the total number of households covered by ultra-broadband service, by the end of 2017, to more than 65% of the city. By the end of 2018, the household units for which the final leg from the cabinet to the home will be implemented – and that will be enabled to receive the 1 Gigabit UltraFiber service – will cover 63% of the city.

The 1 Giga UltraFiber service creates more powerful connections even when you are not at home thanks to the WOW FI, the shared Wi-Fi service that lets all Fastweb customers surf the Web for free by accessing the Wi-Fi points made available to members of communities in more than 800 Italian cities. The Fastweb customers, who enable their phone or other mobile devices, will be able to surf the Web for free as they move around the city thanks to the 35 thousand hot-spots activated in Genoa. By switching to the Giga service, the WoW-FI service, already used in the city of Genoa by more than 12 thousand customers each week, becomes even more highly performing and functional.

Starting today, Friday, September 22 until Sunday, September 24, Fastweb will be present in some of the most characteristic venues of the city, with a mobile unit that will let visitors connect with Fastweb and its world of innovations, ultra-fast speeds and exciting experiences. In Genoa, the tour will be in the following city areas: Friday, September 22, Fastweb will be at Porto Antico, Calata Molo Vecchio, 15 and during the day at the Genoa Station of Piazza Principe; Saturday morning at the Terralba Municipal Market and in the afternoon in Via XX Settembre while on Sunday it will be at the Aquarium of Genoa, Ponte Spinola and finally at Fiumara Shopping&Fun, in Via Fiumara 15/16.

The tour that has already stopped in Rome and Bari will offer the visitors a fascinating journey through Genoa and some of the most beautiful destinations in Italy thanks to videos shot with the 360° technology. In addition to watching the footage, the visitors can also enjoy using fun applications based on 360° filming, they can play at discovering new places and destinations in Italy, they can take and post on social media their own 360 photosphere selfies and participate in a drawing for a 360 kit consisting of a Gear 360 camera, a Samsung Galaxy S8 smartphone and Gear VR goggles.
