Since its creation in 1999, the company has focused on innovation and network infrastructure to provide high quality ultra-broadband services.
Fastweb has developed a national fiber optic network infrastructure of 50,500 kilometers with over 4 million kilometers of fiber that now reaches 22 million households, 8 of which with a proprietary network with connection speeds of up to 1 Gigabit, that will be further expanded thanks to 5G FWA (Fixed Wireless Access) technology, thus bringing the number of families and businesses reached to 16 million by 2023.
During the year 2020 also the mobile service, currently provided in 4G and 4G Plus, will be further enhanced, starting from large cities, through the construction of a new generation 5G mobile infrastructure at national level. Thanks to the network development plans and investments of 3 billion of euro expected in the next 5 years, the company keeps pursuing its strategy towards the complete transformation into a convergent fixed-mobile infrastructured operator, with the aim of providing to an increasing percentage of the population - from the current 30% to 90% in 2026 - a Gigabit speed connection using a combination of converging fixed and mobile new generation infrastructures.
